Hurricane boys soccer team
improves to 3 Senior Josh Cyrus'

Blackhurst collected six saves in recording his third straight shutout. Hurricane (3-0-0),
which hasn't allowed a goal this season, was led defensively by senior Nate
Zeli, junior Ryan Gdula and sophomores Matthew Hale and Colin Miles. "I'm happy with
kids' start," said Redskins Coach Jim Dagostine. "They put in a lot
of time in preparing for this for season. Our total team defense has, thus
far, been very good and Noah has been outstanding." In other boys soccer

Washington 2, Parkersburg 1 -- The Patriots traveled to Parkersburg and
walked away with the win over the two-time defending state champion Big Reds. Nick
Claudio and Jake Stephens scored goals for GW (3-0-0), and Ian Thistlewaite
collected an assist. For
Parkersburg (2-2-0), Tim Stephens netted a first half goal. South Charleston 14,
Lincoln County 0 -- The Black Eagles netted 10 first half goals in cruising
to the easy win. Hasan Katrib led SC
(2-1-0) with five goals and an assist, while Nick Burock and Jared Crist had
two goals apiece. Lincoln County dropped

East 0 -- Chase Upton scored two first-half goals for the Cougars (2-1-0) in
a home win. Upton was making his first appearance of the season after sitting
out two games due to a red card he'd received at the end of last season. Princeton 10,
Riverside 3 -- Derek Ash led Riverside (0-2) with two goals, but the Warriors
were routed by Princeton. Jeremy Chambers scored
three times for the tigers, while Jeremy McCormick added two goals. St. Albans 0, Spring
Valley 0 -- The Red Dragons (1-1-1) traveled to Wayne County and left with a

"It was a lot of back and fourth," St. Albans Coach Ryan Gardner

Sissonville 3 -- The Yellow Jackets led 2-1 and held on for the tough road
