PARKERSBURG 4, CAPITAL 0: Taylor Bryant netted a pair of goals to pace the host Big Reds. Chelsey Maiden and Katie Roberts added a goal apiece for defending state champion Parkersburg (3-0), which jumped out to a 3-0 lead at halftime. Big Reds keeper Kelsey Graham made three saves and shared the shutout with Elizabeth Corbitt. Kennisha Mitchell turned in five stops in the Cougars’ season opener.
