PHS boys, girls featured in regional semifinals

In a doubleheader scheduled tonight at Stadium Field, the PHS girls entertain
Cabell Midland followed by the Big Red boys taking on

On the girls side, Cabell Midland gave PHS all kinds of its

Lockney, Kathleen Roberts, Emma Levin-Nielsen and Taylor Bryant, managed to
pull away for a 4-1 win.
“It was a very physical game when we played them,” PHS girls coach Mike Lockney
said. “The score does not reflect how close the game was. They will be a real
challenge for us.”

“Cabell Midland played their sectional final on Thursday, so they have had a
couple more days to rest,” Lockney said. “But we are pretty deep and we have
some players we can put in to give our starters a break now and then, so I
don’t think that will be an issue.”
