The Parkersburg Big Red girls soccer team is headed to the West Virginia High School Soccer Tournament for the third year in a row.

The defending state champion Big Reds defeated Winfield 1-0 in a girls Regional Championship game at a Soggy Huntington high school field.

Alex Bush score the only goal of the game off the assist of Chelsey Maiden.

Kelsey Graham pitched another shutout as the Big Reds keeper.

With the win, Parkersburg Iimproves to 21-1-2 and advances to play Wheeling Park next Friday in an opening round game of the State Soccer Tournament.

The Parkersburg Big Red Boys saw their season come to an end in the Regional Finals.

After losing to Parkersburg twice during the regular season, the Redskins managed to knock off the Big Reds 3-1.

That ends a run that saw the Big Reds win back to back State Championships. PHS closes out its season with a 19-3-2 record.
